Description

The Loundas Family Scholarship supports undergraduate Resident Assistants (RAs) at Shippensburg University who go beyond their studies to build community and serve as vital resources for their fellow students. When the Shippensburg University Foundation and I discussed how I could make an impact, I immediately thought back to my time as an RA at Ship—my experience in Mowrey Hall remains one of the most meaningful of my life. Being an RA shaped my ability to solve problems, foster connections, and utilize the leadership skills that have guided me throughout my career.

Impact

Endowing a scholarship in our lifetime has been an incredibly rewarding experience, allowing us to see the real difference it makes. We’ve had the privilege of connecting with recipients, witnessing their growth, and knowing this legacy will continue. With your support, we can ensure that future student leaders have the same opportunities to learn, lead, and succeed.

Personal Message from the Craig and Dana Loundas

Dana and I established the Loundas Family Scholarship endowment in 2020, with full funding finalized in 2025. To expand its impact, we’re launching a challenge to our friends, family, and colleagues: we will match the first $5,000 donated during ShipGives in April to strengthen the scholarship and continue supporting deserving RAs with their college expenses. It would be especially meaningful to see contributions from the RAs and student leaders I worked with throughout my student affairs career—paying it forward to future leaders.
